Help us campaign today for a better tomorrow!
Zach McKay moved to Florence at the age of 10, where he then went on to graduate from West Florence High School, excelling both academically and athletically as a member of the baseball team. His strong work ethic earned him a place on The Citadel’s baseball team, where he also earned a degree in Political Science. McKay's professional journey has been centered around public service and economic development. After working with the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, McKay served on the staff of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, helping local constituents resolve complex issues related to VA benefits, Social Security, Disability, and more. His passion for serving the community led him to his current role as Economic Development Director for Marion County, where he works to attract new businesses and create high-paying jobs.
Despite facing a life-changing injury in 2023 that left him paralyzed from the neck down, McKay’s determination remains unwavering. He continues to relentlessly pursue improvements in his own quality of life, applying that same determination to better the lives of those he serves.
